Created by the artist in Japan.

This work is one of only two oversized exhibition prints of this iconic image, created for the 1991 exhibition Beyond Japan: A Photo Theatre at the Barbican Art Gallery, London, and retained by the artist ever since. The other print (ed. 2/2), shown in that exhibition, is now in the collection of the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum. Representing the largest print size Kawada has ever made from his landmark series The Map (1960–1965), it marks the first appearance of Coca-Cola at auction. Later prints are held by the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo; the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art, Washington, D.C.; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and the Centre Pompidou, Paris.
