For experienced gem lovers, an unheated Ceylon Sapphire raises the pulse. Add a name like Bulgari and a design like the “Trombino” and we find ourselves breathless. For one, this ring’s unheated 14.03 carat oval Sapphire is particularly notable, certified as the coveted “Royal Blue” color by GRS and accompanied by an additional certificate by the SSEF institute. The stone also embodies the symbolic history of Bulgari’s “Trombino” design, which was first developed in 1932 by Giorgio Bulgari as an engagement ring for his future wife, Leonilde Gulienetti. The ring perfectly expresses the central design tenet of the “Trombino” — to put forth the stone as the star of the show.
