Catalogue Essay
• A.Lange & Söhne introduced their first automatic movement with the Langematik Sax-O-Mat in 1997, featuring an exquisite, gold and platinum-rimmed winding rotor. It is from these early beginnings that the Langematik Perpetual was born – originally launched at the turn of the new millennium, in 2001. It was first made available in platinum and yellow gold. While early examples had a rectangular pusher to change the date, in later examples, such as the present lot, Lange implemented a recessed pusher instead to prevent accidental activation.
• Similar to other A. Lange & Söhne models, the Langematik is highlighted by the oversized date apertures, which are displayed at the 12 o’clock. This innovative design moved away from the traditional perpetual calendar layout and is based on the Bauhaus principle of “information hierarchy”, with the date being the most important calendar function for the wearer and therefore its prominent position. The Langematik Perpetual has long been considered by many collectors to be one of the most beautiful vintage perpetual calendar watches on the market. It’s case size of 38.5mm, stunning dial layout, and easy legibility are unmatched for the overall look of the watch. It is particularly beautiful in the rarer 18K pink gold case which enhances all the subtleties of this stunning timepiece.
• The reference 310.032 in pink gold was produced from 2007 to 2012 and the Langematik Perpetual was disconnected in 2024. The present watch from circa 2009 is fresh to the market and offered by the original owner. It is well-preserved and offered with its full suite of accessories including automatic winding presentation box.

A. Lange & Söhne
German | 1845Originally founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in Glashütte, Dresden, Germany, the firm established an entire watchmaking culture and industry in Glashütte. The brand quickly became Germany's finest watchmaker, first creating dependable, easy-to-repair watches before going on to produce some of the world's finest complicated pocket watches, including Grande Sonnerie watches, tourbillon watches and Grande Complications.
On the final day of World War II, their factories were destroyed by Russian bombers, and in 1948 the brand was confiscated by the Soviet Union. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, Ferdinand's great grandson Walter Lange re-established the brand with the objective to once again produce top-quality luxury watches. Now part of the Richemont Group, its original vintage and modern creations are highly coveted by collectors. Key models from the modern era include the Lange 1, Pour Le Mérite Tourbillon and the Zeitwerk.
