Catalogue Essay
- The Lange One perpetual calendar was launched in 2021 in different combinations but only the spectacular white gold version with superb salmon dial was limited to 150 pieces, like the present example.
- The Lange One is a truly iconic design and it could seem risky adding calendar functions as it could lead to an imbalanced and somewhat "messy" dial layout. However, this is absolutely not the case here: the date is featured via two large windows in pure Lange One fashion, the day of the week is indicated via a retrograde hand on the left side of the dial, the month is placed gracefully on a rotating disc on the periphery of the dial with hollowed out triangle at 6 o'clock acting both as pointer to the correct month as well as a leap year indicator.
- Within the subseconds counter is an ingenious moonphase display behind which the day/night indication is placed via a rotating disc featuring a clear blue sky that gradually turns into a night sky.
- Offered in overall excellent hardly worn condition, this absolutely eye-catching timepiece is offered with its fill set of accessories and is number 149 of a limited edition of 150 pieces.

A. Lange & Söhne
German | 1845Originally founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in Glashütte, Dresden, Germany, the firm established an entire watchmaking culture and industry in Glashütte. The brand quickly became Germany's finest watchmaker, first creating dependable, easy-to-repair watches before going on to produce some of the world's finest complicated pocket watches, including Grande Sonnerie watches, tourbillon watches and Grande Complications.
On the final day of World War II, their factories were destroyed by Russian bombers, and in 1948 the brand was confiscated by the Soviet Union. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, Ferdinand's great grandson Walter Lange re-established the brand with the objective to once again produce top-quality luxury watches. Now part of the Richemont Group, its original vintage and modern creations are highly coveted by collectors. Key models from the modern era include the Lange 1, Pour Le Mérite Tourbillon and the Zeitwerk.
