GOOD TO KNOW
• Number 23 of a limited series of 25 pieces made for Paris retailer Dubail
• Blue mother-of-pearl “Soirée” dial
• Original guarantee booklet dated to 2020

The Grande Lange 1 takes the modestly sized case of the Lange 1 and gives it additional canvas to work with, increasing the diameter from 38.5mm to 41mm. This limited edition Grande Lange 1, made for Parisian retailer Dubail, combines the size of the Grande Lange 1 with the exotic dial of the Lange 1 “Soirée” to maximum effect. The Lange 1 Soirée was first introduced to the lineup in 2001 and variants have been offered with plain or guillochéd white mother-of-pearl dials in white gold, pink gold, or platinum cases. The Dubail version has a distinct bluish tint to the mother-of-pearl, giving it an extraordinarily romantic quality.

The Dubail family has long been a supporter of the brand, which eventually led to the opening of the A. Lange & Söhne boutique located in the Rue de la Paix at the beginning of 2013 in Paris. It is particularly rare for the manufacture to make a special edition for a retailer, showing how important the partnership with Dubail is to the brand. Furthermore, the retailer's name is also engraved on the caseback.

With its iridescent, sky blue mother-of-pearl dial, increased case size, and limited production, the present Dubail Grande Lange 1 offers an exceptional opportunity for the distinguished collector.

A. Lange & Söhne

German | 1845

Originally founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in Glashütte, Dresden, Germany, the firm established an entire watchmaking culture and industry in Glashütte. The brand quickly became Germany's finest watchmaker, first creating dependable, easy-to-repair watches before going on to produce some of the world's finest complicated pocket watches, including Grande Sonnerie watches, tourbillon watches and Grande Complications.

On the final day of World War II, their factories were destroyed by Russian bombers, and in 1948 the brand was confiscated by the Soviet Union. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, Ferdinand's great grandson Walter Lange re-established the brand with the objective to once again produce top-quality luxury watches. Now part of the Richemont Group, its original vintage and modern creations are highly coveted by collectors. Key models from the modern era include the Lange 1, Pour Le Mérite Tourbillon and the Zeitwerk.
