Ingeniously designed, it features a revolving upper portion made of carved mother-of-pearl, designed to appear like a lotus flower with an amethyst set at the top. Rotating the upper portion one way opens the opulent guilloché enamel doors, revealing the green dial behind. Furthermore, rotating the upper portion the opposite way reveals a gold guilloché heart. The upper portion furthermore can be lifted directly off the lower part, enhancing the technical superiority of the clock.
The doors are furthermore designed with three dimensional gold and diamond-set jasmine and Japanese dogwood flowers swirling up, surrounded by a panel of brilliant diamonds.
The base is furthermore stamped “APLC” , which is the maker’s mark for Asprey, along with London import hallmarks, which is correct for an Asprey retailed clock.
