Catalogue Essay
Following the footsteps of the perpetual calendar model, Audemars Piguet introduced reference 25572 as a medium complication day/date in 1983. The reference remained in production until 1998. A total of 1770 examples were made, 576 in steel, 524 in yellow gold, 654 in steel and yellow gold and 16 in white gold.

The day and date disks are showcased in two different sub-dials elegantly arranged in the mid section of the dial, respectively on the 3 and 9 hour positions. This configuration renders the dial clean and well-balanced, making it extremely appealing and appreciated amongst collectors.

Originally white, the dial of the present example has developed a warm patina tending to the cream/off-white color.

Adding an extra element of appeal and rarity is the Tiffany & Co. signature right below the brand name. Research shows in fact that this timepiece dates back to 1984 and was delivered and sold in the United States.

Extremely elegant and sought-after, collectors in recent times have been striving to get their hands on early and interesting Royal Oaks, and this is with no doubt a hidden gem.

Audemars Piguet

Swiss | 1881
A specialist in the manufacture of complications since it was established in 1881, Audemars Piguet never ceases to impress with a rich history of creating bold, even audacious, timepieces underpinned by traditional watchmaking at its finest. This Le Brassus-based Swiss manufacturer is one of only two major manufacturers still owned by the founding family. Since its earliest days, AP is considered a leader in the field of minute repeaters and grande complication pocket and wristwatches. The brand is devoted to preserving the history of watchmaking in the Vallée de Joux, showcased at their superb museum in Le Brassus.
Today, the brand is best known for its Royal Oak models, a revolutionary luxury sports watch launched in 1972. Other key models include early minute repeating wristwatches, vintage chronograph wristwatches, such as the oversized reference 5020, perpetual calendar watches and the Royal Oak Offshore, first introduced in 1993.
