- 2023 marks the 30th Anniversary of the Royal Oak Offshore. Following the success of the original Royal Oak, Audemars Piguet introduced the first iteration in 1993. The model was delivered in stainless steel at first, featuring a rubber crown and chronograph pushers. Many variations of case materials and dial configurations were introduced after its initial release.
- The present stainless steel Royal Oak Offshore chronograph is from 2011 and features an attractive military dial in black with the iconic Mega Tapisserie pattern. Bold yet easy on the eyes, the monochromatic canvas is adorned with oversized lume-filled Arabic numerals and matching white gold hands.
- This example adheres strongly to its predecessor with a rubber crown and chronograph pushers, rather than the ceramic crown and pushers in later examples from 2015 onwards. Further complimented with an integrated stainless steel bracelet, the watch wears comfortably on the wrist despite its generous case size.
- Concealed behind its solid caseback is the powerful automatic cal. 3126/3840. In comparison to the previous generation ref. 25721ST, the present movement is equipped with a 50-hour power reserve rather than the original 38 hours.
- Staggering in proportions and presence, the current ref. 26170ST is offered in excellent overall condition and is complete with its full set of accessories. This example is a fantastic opportunity for Royal Oak collectors to acquire an attractive variant of the famed model.
