One of the true icons of modern haute horlogerie, the Royal Oak Chronograph has been a game-changer since its debut in 1997. To commemorate the model’s 20th anniversary in 2017, Audemars Piguet introduced the ref. 26331 generation, featuring a reduced size for the small seconds at 6 o’clock, which maximized the space for the hour and minute chronograph registers. Alongside this, they released the present reference 26331IP.OO.1220IP.01, one of the rarest variants on the market, produced in a limited edition of just 500 pieces.
Housed in a generous 41mm titanium case with the iconic platinum octagonal bezel, the striking slate grey grand tapisserie dial is beautifully complemented by deep blue registers and an outer track, finished off with a matching slate grey date wheel. The two-tone design extended to the titanium bracelet filled with platinum interlinks. Powering this robust chronograph is the calibre 2385, based on the legendary Frederic Piguet calibre 1185, which offers up to 40 hours of power reserve.
Well-preserved and in excellent overall condition, the watch retains its stickers on the caseback and bracelet. It is also accompanied by its warranty and accessories. With this reference already discontinued from the Audemars Piguet catalog, it presents a rare opportunity for collectors to acquire this highly sought-after limited edition with a remarkable presence on the wrist.
