To celebrate the Royal Oak’s 50th anniversary, Audemars Piguet released the Royal Oak Carolina Bucci limited edition ref. 77350CE.OO.1266CE in collaboration with Italian jewelry designer Carolina Bucci. This marks the third partnership between the two since 2016 with the Florentine finished Royal Oak.
Extremely attractive with the rich black ceramic case, the watch sized at 34mm diameter features a standout element, the captivating rainbow-hued dial with a polished mirror-like finish. This effect reimagines the classic Tapisserie motif as Bucci describes: "I wanted to place a rainbow in the most unexpected of places... a little like when you see oil floating on a puddle in a city street... So here you have every color of the spectrum on a canvas that is completely black."
Achieved by using a sapphire dial set with tiny patterned squared that sit atop a brass dial plate, pink gold accents highlights the elegance with a softer touch against the sporty characteristics of ceramic.
Powered by the Caliber 5800 with a comfortable power reserve of 50 hours, the model was limited to just 300 pieces. It was an instant hit upon release and has proven highly sought-after due to its charm. This example, preserved in “like-new” condition from the original owner, represents the first offering by Phillips and a playful, bold twist on the iconic Royal Oak design.
