Catalogue Essay
Released after the grey/titanium, this version of the Octo has deep, subtle colours accented by a sliver of gold representing the waxing moon. If the previous Tadao Ando Octo is austere, then this is expressive. - Mark Cho

- Since their first collaboration in 2019, Bulgari and the acclaimed Japanese architect, Tadao Ando, released their third timepiece at the beginning of 2021, through the present model ref. 103534. Differing from its titanium debutant, their third collaboration features a stealthy matte black ceramic case with an integrated bracelet bearing a smooth sandblasted texture. The midnight blue lacquer dial is adorned with its familiar concentric circular patterns, topped with a yellow gold crescent at 5 o’clock. A nice touch and a decorative element, it also depicts the early stages of a new moon referred as “Mikazuki” in Japanese culture, a symbol of rebirth and the passing nature of time.
- Limited to 160 pieces only worldwide , the present timepiece is with no doubt one of the most exciting timepiece launched by the firm. The present example is offered in “like new” condition complete with its full set of accessories.

Bulgari
ItalianOriginally from Kalarites, Greece, Sotirios Voulgaris emigrated to Rome because of Greece's rising poverty and difficulty separating from the Ottoman Empire. He set foot on Italian soil in 1880 with little money in his pocket and spent the next four years preparing what would go on to become Italy's oldest jewelry company. In 1884, Bulgari opened its doors to the Italian people with its offering of jewelry and accessories. Bulgari's style takes from traditions in Greek and Roman craftsmanship to elegantly balance volume and subtlety. Later, in the late 1960s, Bulgari bridged classicism and modernity by introducing its seductive, now-iconic Serpenti collection of snake-shaped coil bracelets and watches. It is through its meticulous combination of influences that Bulgari has garnered an international and loyal high-profile clientele, which included Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn. These Hollywood stars have immortalized the house's unique gem-adorned bracelets, necklaces and earrings in rounded forms.
