Catalogue Essay
- Bulgari has demonstrated impressive craftmanship and technical innovation with the Octo Finissimo collection since it was introduced in 2014 and has set a few world records for creating the world’s thinnest complicated wristwatches. The present watch houses one of the thinnest tourbillon movements ever made.

- Encased in the iconic ultra-thin octogonal case, there sits the in-house manual calibre BVL 268 SK measuring at a remarkable thickness of 1.95mm only. It delivers a power reserve of 52 hours and runs at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. Its barrel spring is equipped with a slipping spring, and the flying tourbillon cage is fitted on a peripherally driven ball-bearing mechanism, ensuring seamless efficiency and precision.

- The skeletonized dial allows one to indulge in the viewing of the flying tourbillon in action. The red hands and outer minute ring on the dial further imbue the watch with a charming flamboyance, accentuating the cold DLC-coated titanium with a vibrant flair. Produced in a limited edition of 30 pieces only, the number of the watch is cleverly engraved on its winding crown.

- Preserved in “like-new” condition and numbered 28 in a limited edition of 30 pieces, this rare beauty is an extraordinary horological creation that should not be missed by the passionate and stylish watch aficionados.

Bulgari

Italian
Originally from Kalarites, Greece, Sotirios Voulgaris emigrated to Rome because of Greece's rising poverty and difficulty separating from the Ottoman Empire. He set foot on Italian soil in 1880 with little money in his pocket and spent the next four years preparing what would go on to become Italy's oldest jewelry company. In 1884, Bulgari opened its doors to the Italian people with its offering of jewelry and accessories. Bulgari's style takes from traditions in Greek and Roman craftsmanship to elegantly balance volume and subtlety. Later, in the late 1960s, Bulgari bridged classicism and modernity by introducing its seductive, now-iconic Serpenti collection of snake-shaped coil bracelets and watches. It is through its meticulous combination of influences that Bulgari has garnered an international and loyal high-profile clientele, which included Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn. These Hollywood stars have immortalized the house's unique gem-adorned bracelets, necklaces and earrings in rounded forms.
