Catalogue Essay
The Czapek Quai des Bergues collection was inspired by the magnificent historical pocket watch reference 3430 created by François Czapek dating all the way to the 1850’s, and it was the first creation, made happen by crowdfunding, from the brand when it was revived in 2015.
Preserved in excellent condition, and further delivered with the accompanying Czapek certificate of authenticity and warranty stamped Daimaru Shinsaibashi Osaka, a cultural and social landmark located at the heart or the city. The store building designed by the renowned architect Merrell Vories Hitotsuyanagi was completed in 1933, and the clock salon on the sixth floor has gathered the world’s best watch brands, earning it a reputation as a paradise for watch shopping. The present specimen is a classic beauty integrating tradition and vision, and a delightful celebration of Czapek’s superb watchmaking spirit and style.
