Good to know:
- Double dial, tourbillon, date and power reserve
- Less than 5 known to the public market in white gold
- Early example, N.21, sold by Asprey London
- Preserved in excellent condition
Introduced in 1989 following the creation of his eponymous brand, Daniel Roth’s double-faced Tourbillon reference C187 was a bold statement of independence and design identity. Blending classical Breguet inspiration with his now-iconic ellipsocurvex case, guilloché dial, and sharply pointed hands, Roth established a distinctive aesthetic that would define modern independent watchmaking. The present white gold Régulateur Tourbillon is among the most celebrated executions of the model, featuring a prominent tourbillon with an ingenious triple-armed seconds hand calibrated over three 20-second tracks, while the reverse reveals retrograde power reserve and date indications.
Cased in the rarest white gold iteration and accompanied by its Official Swiss Chronometer Watch Rate Certificate, Asprey London presentation box and instruction manual, the present example was likely delivered to an important Asprey client shortly after the initial subscription series. To date, no more than 5 pieces in white gold have appeared on the auction market, underscoring the rarity of the present watch.
Preserved in excellent overall condition, it represents a compelling opportunity to acquire one of the foundational creations of Daniel Roth’s early independent career.
