Distinguished with extravagance, the DB25SJ Starry Sky sparkles with elegance. The dark gleam of mirror-polished blued titanium dial sets the stage of the cosmic gaze, illuminating the sky are delicate white gold and diamond stars that twinkles among the ever-wild night sky.
Extraordinary and commissioned by the original owner, this is the night sky of the Star of Bethlehem, also known as the Christmas Star. A biblical tale in the Book of Matthew, it was the night of three “Magi” wise men from the East journeyed afar with the guidance of the celestial phenomenon to Bethlehem, birth place of Jesus Christ.
A meaningful timepieces, De Bethune took a deep dive into astrology to investigate the positions of the stars of that significant night. The signature 3D moon phase is
star-studded and casted in platinum and steel for the DB25SJ. Adorned with 44 diamonds and 44 blue sapphires, its moon phases spins on its own axis with exceptional accurate precision that will diverge from astronomical reality by a mere one-day difference every 122 years.
With a sinuous case of 40mm in diameter with De Bethune’s signature hollow lugs, the firm goes further on bejewelling the caseband with 61 beautiful baguette-cut sapphires (weigh 5.29 carats) that resonate harmoniously with the dial. Powered by the signature hand-crafted delta-shaped movement with annular balance and triple pare-chute shock-absorbing system, De Bethune even went as far as removing its manufacture signature on the movement to celebrate this creation.
Traveling time and space with a symbolic and understated story, the present unique piece in exceptional condition is offered by the original owner and is fresh-to-the-market with a story.
