Good To Know:
- A historic piece from De Bethune's early days
- Bears the serial number 001
The DB10 was presented in 2003, a year after the founding of the brand.
The brainchild of Davide Zanetta, a collector of vintage timepieces and art, and Denis Flageollet, a genius watchmaker who started his career restoring vintage timepieces and developing über-complicated movements for others, De Bethune was created in 2002. Over the past 20 years, the brand has developed more than 35 in-house movements and pioneered a cavalcade of extraordinary technical inventions. De Bethune is certainly one of the brands that today best symbolizes 21st-century watchmaking. This independent watchmaker is known for creative contemporary design innovations, mechanical perfection, and continuous research and development within the manufacture’s laboratory.
These early models featured ogival lugs that have become embedded in the brand’s design language, consistent with some models still in production today. It is important to note that the aesthetics and DNA have never strayed from the brand’s original vision but have been refined over the years, making De Bethune timepieces a class of their own.
The present DB10 in pink gold is a stunning yet simple timepiece. Featuring a 42 mm case, the guilloché dial is further complemented by blue-painted Arabic numerals and blued steel hands.
Adding to its collectability is the fact that the watch bears number 001, making it the very first DB10 in pink gold produced.
