Catalogue Essay
- Nicolas Delaloye began his independent path at the turn of the millennium. With rich experience specializing in grande complications such as perpetual calendars, split-seconds chronographs at the Patek Philippe atelier early on in his career, Delaloye also spent time as a workshop manager for Roger Dubuis, and later in the development of the grande sonnerie movement at François-Paul Journe.

- Launched in 2005 with Le Grade-Temps under his own name, Delaloye Geneve, this marked his first creation of a series powered by his inaugural calibre ND01.

- Classic, round with a pure silhouette, the Le Grade-Temps were created with two sizes: 37mm and 41mm. While majority of the pieces were created with the latter size, the collection was exquisitely limited with the intention of a total of 50 pieces each across white gold and pink gold. It is said that Delaloye only created 18 examples of the 41mm and 5 examples of the 37mm between 2004-2016 before he put a halt on his own brand and returned to Patek Philippe as a master restorer.

- Part of the early calibre ND01 limited series, the present ND01.S.G, is numbered 3 of 50. Cased in a 41mm diameter white gold mirror-polished exterior, it features a mesmerizing black-mother-of-pearl outer ring with applied Breguet numerals. Framed by raised rim, the central sunken portion of the dial is finished with a fine and beautiful guilloché.

- What makes this early example particularly rare lies with its unique twist on the ND01 movement. Visible through its sapphire caseback is an exquisite hand engraved masterpiece with a medieval touch. Phoenixes with blazing fire can be found on the plates and bridges throughout. Numbered 3 of 50, this is possibly a unique creation kept by the original owner with all its accessories.

Please note that the proceeds of the sale of the present watch will be given by the Consignor to various charities.
