Catalogue Essay
Established in 1918, Eska was founded by Mr. Silvan Kocher Sr. in Selzach belonging to the German part of Switzerland. Famed for their enameled dial pieces, various motifs were depicted in their collection of enameled dial watches. The technical ability and the level of craftsmanship required to execute a cloisonné enamel is an extremely rigid process requiring a high percentage of dismissible examples until one fits the expectation of the manufacture. Furthermore, the chosen motif by the manufacturer is highly important to ensure client satisfaction and demand.

The present example of a yellow gold Eska wristwatch with cloisonné enamel “Capricorn” motif featuring “crab-claw” lugs is presented in attractive overall condition and would be a perfect birthday gift for collectors born between 22nd December to 20th January.
