Catalogue Essay
With fascination written all over, the Chronometre Bleu is one of the most interesting wristwatches produced in recent times. Launched in 2011, Journe decided to introduce an entry level wristwatch that would still impact the industry with a bang. The excitement delivered was through Journe’s innovative approach to create a case made out of the highly rare and delicate to handle tantalum. With a slightly greyish tint, the appeal implants a deep of fresh air to collectors seeking for something unusual but approachable with an equally high standard of execution and finish witnessed on all F.P. Journe wristwatches. With that said, the most interesting and captivating element of the watch is the dial. With an instant ray of light striking against the metallic chrome blue dial, it is easy for one to be drawn immediately, which clearly is why the Chronometre Bleu is highly sought after and incredibly rare. The present example offered in excellent overall condition and is complete will the full set of accessories when it was purchased by the original owner confirmed by the original invoice from Hong Kong.

F.P. Journe

Swiss | 1999
Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.

Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
