Catalogue Essay
-The Chronomètre Bleu is one of the most talked-about and sought-after wristwatches produced in recent times. In 2011, Journe decided to introduce an entry level wristwatch to his notoriously highly complicated collection (his first model was in fact a tourbillon piece, followed by the Resonance). He wanted to make a timepiece that created an intervention within the industry, despite its simplicity. In hindsight, we can say that the mission was more than accomplished.
- Journe created a case made out of the highly rare and delicate to handle tantalum, granting the piece a slick and unusual - but at the same time very elegant - greyish/blue tint. The size is a very contemporary 39mm, and the design is simple and masculine, the one hint of flamboyance being the Journe-style crown.
-The present watch is preserved in excellent condition and is accompanied by all its original accessories

Provenance
F.P. Journe
Swiss | 1999Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.
Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
