Catalogue Essay
Created to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the F.P. Journe Tokyo boutique, this extraordinary limited series pays homage to the Maison’s most devoted clientele.

The Anniversary Timepieces Edition exemplifies this ethos, celebrating the enduring bond between the brand and its patrons. The Octa Perpétuelle Tokyo Anniversary Edition is a triumph of modern haute horlogerie, encased in polished titanium with pink gold pushers radiates a refined, contemporary elegance. Its ruthenium-coated gold dial provides a bold yet sophisticated contrast. This perpetual calendar movement is a technical masterpiece, featuring a retrograde date display, apertures for the day and month, and a leap-year indicator seamlessly integrated into February. The mechanism transitions effortlessly between months of varying lengths—28, 29, 30, or 31 days—automatically accounting for leap years with remarkable precision. A standout feature is the safety pusher at 8 o’clock, designed for the annual adjustment of the months during the initial setup. Ingeniously conceived, this mechanism prevents accidental activation, ensuring intuitive operation without the need for specialized abilities.

Housed in a contemporary 40 mm titanium case with pink gold pushers, the charcoal hue of the ruthenium dial is beautifully complemented by pink gold hands and calendar highlights, enhancing its refined presence within the Tokyo Anniversaire series. Extremely rare and highly coveted, the Octa Perpétuelle was produced in just 99 examples, with the present watch, number 89, preserved in very good overall condition and offered with its F.P. Journe Certificate dated January 15, 2011, invoice, presentation box and outer packaging.

A creation born from passion and executed with the utmost care, this Octa Perpétuelle is a rare opportunity for the discerning Journe collector to acquire a piece that perfectly blends technical mastery, aesthetic harmony, and exclusivity.

F.P. Journe

Swiss | 1999
Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.

Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
