Catalogue Essay
In the 1950s, Girard-Perregaux debuted the Olimpico series to celebrate the Olympic Games, and for the next 30 years the manufacturer released a different model every four years. The present watch, made in 1968, was Girard-Perregaux’s commemorative endeavor dedicated to the 1968 Games in Mexico.

In terms of its aesthetics, the combination of wondrously preserved luminous indexes, stepped case, and radiantly printed subsidiary registers form a harmonious lilt of wondrous colors. On the wrist, it looks very modern, given the thick lugs and the respectable 39mm case diameter. The movement fitted in this chronograph was made by Excelsior Park.

The present chronograph is in excellent condition, with a certificate and product literature. Given the surging demand from connoisseurs for vintage chronographs, the present watch is an exclusive opportunity to own one of the finest and rarest Olimpicos to ever come to auction.
