Catalogue Essay
- Officially released in 2021 as a 140-piece limited edition exclusively for the U.S. market, the present Grand Seiko reference SBGW277 is part of the brands Elegance collection. Directly inspired from Japan’s natural environment and traditional lifestyle, the Elegance collection reflects this ethos with thin profile manually-wound dress watches that wear comfortably on the wrist.
- Featuring a stunning grainy dial, directly inspired by the Genbi Valley of Japan, the limited edition featured three different dial variations, with tones of green varying from light to dark like the present example, reflecting the flora in each season. The textured dial is directly inspired by Japan's artistic technique of "Kirazuri", where mica powder is mixed into pigments.
- Powered by the in-house caliber 9S64 and visually striking, the present timepiece, in excellent and barely worn condition comes with its full set of accessories. Offered without reserve and numbered 55 of a 140 limited edition, the present timepiece is a horological interpretation of refinement and storied history of the rich landscapes of Japan’s Genbi Valley.
