Founded in 2004, Hautlence stresses on interpreting time through technologically advanced and contemporary methods. Whilst paying its respect to traditional watchmaking, the name derives as an anagram to the horological hub of Neuchâtel. With its inspiration from architectural principles and values, it is with no doubt that the result is mind blowing as it is unique in its own respect. With expertise from the industry, Hautlence was further strengthened in 2012 with the unification between co-founder Sandro Reginelli and Georges-Henri Meylan. The partnership between the two passionate horologist enhanced the firm’s positioning in the independent sector of watchmaking.

The Vortex was first introduced in 2015 as one of the firm’s most complicated and interesting model. Featuring a futuristic case design comprised of grade 5 titanium with sapphire panels fitted in most facets of the case, the beautiful architectural element of the movement is proudly displayed and visible through these panels. On the dial side, the watch features a retrograde style minute display and digital jumping hours on the left with a power reserve indicator on the right. However, the most interesting factor of the present watch is the rotating mechanism featuring a mobile bridge that rotates 90 degrees when the minute hands hit the 60 mark and the hands jump directly back to 0 and the hours jump to the next.

The present example belongs to the very first model of Vortex introduced in 2015. The watch is presented in excellent “like new” overall condition and is further charmed by the full set of accessories.
