Catalogue Essay
The Hublot Big Bang was initially launched in 2005 and has perhaps somewhat revolutionized the contemporary watch market by its innovative approach to design and materials. With the establishment of Hublot in 1980 by Carlo Crocco, they were also the first to introduce a wristwatch fitted with a natural rubber strap which took over 3 years of research and development. Since then, Hublot has thrived over the years gaining a successful and reputable global image under the helms of the legendary Jean-Claude Biver.

The Hublot Big Bang “Jeans” was the first-ever wristwatch to incorporate a denim dial. The model was released as a limited edition of 250 pieces and the present example belongs to the second example produced. The present lot is presented in excellent overall condition with very minimal signs of use and wear.

Hublot

Swiss | 1980
Hublot was founded by Carlo Crocco in 1980 and named after the French word for "porthole," which resembles their iconic bezel design. Hublot's first watch followed three years of research and was the first wristwatch to be fitted with a natural rubber strap. The brand's most recognizable watch today is the 'Big Bang', which was first launched in 2005 upon the arrival of CEO and shareholder Jean-Claude Biver. Other noteworthy models are the 'Classic Fusion' and 'King Power'.
