Catalogue Essay
Since its breakthrough as the first watchmaker to incorporate a rubber strap on a wristwatch in the 1980’s, Hublot has continued its legacy to create wristwatches with the belief that “The fusion of materials and the fusion of traditional craftsmanship combined with visionary art of 21st century” remain as the brands core value famously quoted by none other than the revered Mr. Jean-Claude Biver.
The present Big Bang Aero Bang skeletonized chronograph wristwatch epitomizes the brand’s DNA in a perfect manner with a combination of three materials for the composition of the 44mm diameter case incorporating an 18K pink gold case frame, a ceramic bezel and titanium components. Limited to 500 pieces, the present example numbered 270 is offered with its full set of accessories.

Hublot
Swiss | 1980Hublot was founded by Carlo Crocco in 1980 and named after the French word for "porthole," which resembles their iconic bezel design. Hublot's first watch followed three years of research and was the first wristwatch to be fitted with a natural rubber strap. The brand's most recognizable watch today is the 'Big Bang', which was first launched in 2005 upon the arrival of CEO and shareholder Jean-Claude Biver. Other noteworthy models are the 'Classic Fusion' and 'King Power'.
