Catalogue Essay
Entering the 2005 Basel World with a ‘Big Bang’, Hublot introduced its ref. 342.SB.131.RX that blew the horology community away at the time. Ticking all the boxes for a bold and striking aesthetic, the vivid details give it a raw industrial look that offers a prominent wrist presence.

Featuring a large bolt-fixed bezel in black ceramic, the highly polished top is contrasted with a hobnail patterned caseband that encases a carbon fibre dial. Layered with white indexes and applique silver-tone Arabic numerals, a touch of sporty red in the chronograph second hand truly brings the dark and attractive dial to life. This is a practical watch that also offers a quick set mechanism that allows you to rapidly cycle the date. With a sapphire caseback, the wearer is invited to admire its self-winding chronograph movement.

The Hublot Big Bang ref. 342.SB.131.RX at hand is presented in excellent condition and is accompanied by its original accessories.

Hublot

Swiss | 1980
Hublot was founded by Carlo Crocco in 1980 and named after the French word for "porthole," which resembles their iconic bezel design. Hublot's first watch followed three years of research and was the first wristwatch to be fitted with a natural rubber strap. The brand's most recognizable watch today is the 'Big Bang', which was first launched in 2005 upon the arrival of CEO and shareholder Jean-Claude Biver. Other noteworthy models are the 'Classic Fusion' and 'King Power'.
