The IWC Portugieser was first introduced over 80 years ago from the request of two Portuguese businessmen to commission a wristwatch with the precision of a marine chronometer. The present Portugieser perpetual calender ref. IW502218 was launched in 2006 featuring a white gold case with an ardoise grey sunburst dial. Symmetrically designed with an off-set digital year display, the watch is proportioned in a graceful 42.3mm diameter case, the sophisticated slate grey dial with silver accents on the moon phases gorgeously changes tones under different light. Powered by the calibre 51610, it offers an impressive 7 days of power reserve and was used between 2006-2007, production continued in 2017 until 2012 were upgraded with the calibre 51613.
