Jacob & Co may not have been a familiar name in horology until recently when the firm launched a series of groundbreaking timepieces that are outstanding and unique. Regarded as one of the most reputable jewelers for high flying elites and celebrities, founder Jacob Arabo has a distinct flair for showmanship and in 2015, after 2 years of research and development, the firm launched the “Ghost”.
Paying homage to its iconic Five Time Zone watch originally launched in 2002, the Ghost is perhaps a futuristic iteration. Powered by a quartz caliber, the time zones are displayed via five LCD screens with function selectors on the case band to depict over 20 various time zones. Unusual though practical, the watch can be charged via a cable attached to the caseback once the slide is opened. Ground breaking and eccentric, the time zones are calibrated via a GPS system installed in the timepiece and the colors of the text depicted on the screen can be changed to various colors via the function selector featured on the case band.
The present example in PVD-coated stainless steel with a white frame is presented in excellent “like new” overall condition. Encased in a flamboyant pentagon-shaped case, the present timepiece certainly deserves a status of its own. The present lot is accompanied by the full set of accessories.
