In 2024, Konstantin Chaykin released the Joker Sandmann Only Watch 2024 as a piece unique at the charity auction with a recorded sale of CHF 110,000. The Joker Sandmann pays homage to the watchmaker’s original Joker from the 2017 Wristmon Collection.

The present Joker Sandmann created especially for the 10th Edition of Only Watch has an openworked dial, showcasing the complex mechanism of the timepiece. The watch gives an impression of a funny-looking joker with rotating eyes, using synthetic corundum instead of conventional hands to indicate time. Unlike the original Joker, the moonphase, taking the form of the smiley mouth, is replaced by a day of week indicator much like the Joker Five released in 2022. The watch operates on the cal. K.09-1 movement, which is La Joux-Perret G200 movement based on an in-house developed dual disk indicator of hours and minutes. Decorated in traditional frosted technique and sandblasting, it gives a classy touch to the playful nature of the watch.

The watch is cased with a steel alloy called”bulat”, which is known in Russia with a traceable history from the medieval times. The alloy is exclusively used by Konstantin Chaykin, and he only uses it for timepieces purposed for special occasions. The hardness and wear resistance of “bulat” make it a desirable watch to wear, at the same time the rare appearance of the surface of the metal surely is defining factor that differentiates it from other standard Jokers.
