Catalogue Essay
A true masterpiece and an understatement due to its simplistic aesthetic, one may miscount the technical ingenuity that lies behind the dial. At first glance, what appears to be a simple time-only wristwatch is defined further when one reads the inscription subtly printed in grey against the glossy black “onyx” dial “Tourbillon Double Spiral”. Housed in an elegant white gold case with voluptuous curves and no angular components breaking its fluidity sits the in-house cal. FBN 916.01 with a double spiral tourbillon escapement. Laying centered towards the bottom, two hairsprings beat uniformly with each anchored opposite one another enhancing its precision further than having just one hairspring with a single anchor point.
The dial is further fathomable due to its slick “glossy” appearance achieved by the nature of the black “onyx” material. Painted with white roman numerals, the legibility is excellent due to its perfect contrast against the black background.
Further accompanied by the all of its original accessories, the present timepiece is presented in excellent overall condition with the previous owner only wearing it a handful of times.
