Catalogue Essay
- Lecomte is a watchmaking teacher in Morteau (France) and who's illustrious pupils were the likes of Theo Auffret or Remy Cools.
- During the 2020 Covid 19 lockdowns he started making a watch of his own to pass time and since then he has been making a very small number of pieces (most often upon commission) per year.
- Very much inspired by the aesthetics of French watchmaking of the 18th and 19th centuries the present Series 2 is the first of Lecomte's watches to feature his proprietary balance with an unusual architecture.
- It is incredible to find such a high degree of craftsmanship such as hand engraving and hand finishing in a timepiece in this price point.
- Making its auction debut the present Series 2 is number 5 of a limited edition of 12 pieces.
