The Legacy Machine Perpetual is the brand's reinvention of the perpetual calendar creating a timepiece that is trouble free. In traditional watchmaking, the perpetual calendar function is composed of modules sitting on top of the base movement, however with the Legacy Perpetual, the brand created a fully integrated in-house movement, which uses a mechanical processor that changes the way the calendar is set.
In addition to the modular system, traditional perpetual calendar mechanisms use a 31-day default for each month of the year, this means that in a short month, the movement needs to scroll through up to four additional days to arrive at the new month. The Legacy Machine uses a 28-day month format with additional days added on, allowing each month to have the correct number of days. The movement of the watch features a quick-set for the leap year indication.
The present watch is a limited edition model of 25 timepieces and was also produced in a limited edition of 25 platinum examples. The balance wheel with extra long balance staff hoovers over the skeletonized dial, as do the white enamel subsidiary dials for time indication, day, date and month. The leap year and power reserve sectors are seen on either side of the 6 o’clock. The watch has a avant-gardist beauty, and the movement is one of modern complexity. In excellent overall condition, the Legacy Machine Perpetual should appeal to all collectors as it is a contemporary reinvention of the most traditional complication.
MB&F will offer a complimentary service for the successful buyer of this watch within six months after purchase, including shipping fee of the watch to the MB&F.
