Launched for the brand’s 10th anniversary the Horological Machine X was made in in red, blue, black and green, each in 20 pieces and the whole series sold out in less than a week! An incredible machine, it is directly inspired by automobile design of the 1950s and more specifically by Carrozzeria Touring and the Alfa Disco Volante.
The automobile inspiration is pushed even further by the fact that it is a driver’s watch as the time telling indication is on the side, allowing the driver to read the time while keeping his hand on the steering wheel. Furthermore, two blue oil sumps can be seen from the top, the oil caps are actually opened by the watchmaker to lubricate the two sapphire hour ad minute discs.
The “HMX” features jumping hours and wandering minutes – but it's how and where the time is displayed that makes HMX so special: rotating discs on top of the movement are reflected vertically and magnified by optical prisms.
The “HMX’s” design, wearability, innovative time display and sheer power make it a must have amongst the magnificent creations of MB&F.
Please note that MB&F generously offers a complimentary service of the watch to the successful bidder.
