Released in 2011, the MB&F Legacy Machine 1 presented collectors and the community an entirely fresh timepiece unlike other models launched previously by the firm.
Inspired by 19th century pocket watches, the LM1 is a perfect fusion between traditional Swiss craftsmanship with a contemporary design. It is furthermore, the first MB&F wristwatch to be encased in a round-shaped case with white lacquered dials paired with blued steel hands. Housed underneath the superbly domed sapphire crystal lies the model’s signature “flying balance” suspended elegantly in between the two white lacquered dials. Visually striking, the unique vertical power reserve indicator is also a world premiere. Adopting a perfectly symmetrical design, the legibility of the dial is heightened and simple to function featuring two crowns on each side of the caseband allowing the wearer to set the time zones individually at ease.
Powered by an elegantly executed manual movement created in collaboration with Jean-Francois Mojon and Kari Voutilainen, the exceptionally finished movement is no surprise. An instant success during its launch, the LM1 was awarded the Best Men’s Watch Prize at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève in 2012. Paving way for other Legacy Machine models, the LM1 is discontinued making it now a sought after timepiece by enthusiasts of independent brands.
The present example in 18K white gold with an attractive ashen gray dial is offered in excellent overall condition and is further accompanied by its outstanding presentation box.
