Paolo Gasparini is recognised as one of the major figures in Latin American photography. He has travelled widely in Cuba and Venezuela, capturing images of cities and their inhabitants. Latin American photography specialist Horacio Fernández praises Gasparini’s ‘special talent for capturing not only vacant lots, homeless people, posters and demonstrations, and graffiti, but also young people, expectant teenagers leaning on cars rendering legible both the city itself and those who seems provisionally to inhabit it.’
