Catalogue Essay
An instant success — the ref. 5960, introduced in 2006, was Patek Philippe’s first automatic chronograph wristwatch to incorporate an annual calendar complication. In fact, it was the very first automatic chronograph ever serially produced by Patek Philippe. The reference was first launched in platinum with a grey dial. Patek Philippe later released variants in white gold, pink gold, and stainless steel.
The present configuration, made in stainless steel with a black dial, was released in late 2017 and only offered for one year. Phillips is honoured to offer the first example of reference 5960/1A with black dial and bracelet at auction, which is not only fresh to the market, but also accompanied with original certificate, box and other accessories. It will be an absolute pleasure for any collectors to have in their collection, to own one of the most exclusive modern complications created by Patek Philippe.
