Catalogue Essay
For their 175th anniversary, the brand released a new collection of limited edition watches including a grand complicated repeater, a series of multi-scale chronographs and a world time with moon phase watch made in both men’s and women’s models.
Patek Philippe’ references 5575G and 7175R are delightfully 21st-century models reaching back in history to Louis Cottier who created the world time timepiece, but modern with large cases, lyre-shaped lugs and powered by innovative automatic calibre 240 HU LU ( heures universelle lune). The lady’s wristwatch at 38mm diameter is a combination of jewellery piece and mechanical craftsmanship. Released in a limited edition of 450 examples, the pink gold case is enhanced with a diamond-set bezel and has a sophisticated elegant appeal. The dial is highlighted by the central zone with star map and moon phase, and this is the first time a world time timepiece was combined with another watch complication. Additionally, in a small change to the typical world time, the city of Paris has been replaced by Geneva for the Central European Time city.

The role of women watch collectors have grown over the last 20 years and brands now look to these important clients, seeking to give them the same complicated timepieces men want, but with a feminine appeal that will easily work in both a casual or formal setting. The present example in an excellent overall condition and is complete with all accessories.
