Catalogue Essay
The reference 5960 is a milestone reference for Patek Philippe, as it was fitted with the brand’s first self-winding chronograph – the calibre CH 28-520, designed and manufactured completely in-house. Since its launch in 2006, the reference 5960 has undergone various configurations, first offered only in platinum with an anthracite grey dial, like the present lot, followed by a version in pink gold.

The 5960 has been lauded for its sporty feel, generous dimensions without sacrificing wearability, and innovative dial layout. A highly practical timepiece that is favored for daily wear amongst collectors thanks to its intuitive annual calendar complication and comfortable yet stylish wrist presence.

In excellent condition, this example was purchased at the London salon of Patek Philippe in 2008 and retains its complete suite of original accessories.
