Catalogue Essay
The 570 is one of the most perfect watches ever. It is more than an up-sized version of the 96 and has a very different look due to the changes in its proportions. Despite its monochromatic appearance, it is actually rich in subtle shades of champagne due to its age and its white gold composition. - Mark Cho

- Patek Philippe’s reference 570 is a potent mix of sophistication and simplicity. Considered a large watch at its time of conception, the ref. 570 has been referred as the "Calatravone", an endearing nickname for "Large Calatrava" in Italian, flaunting a timeless design with a flat bezel and thick lugs. This Patek Philippe staple enjoyed a long successful 33-year production run between 1938 to 1972 and remains a highly coveted reference among the Calatrava family.

- Launched in series, the firm introduced two variants including one with small seconds and another with center seconds, encased in an array of different configurations of precious metals and stainless steel. Later examples produced after 1950 are powered by the firm’s upgraded cal. 27 SC and are dubbed as the second series, as per the current lot.

- The present white gold ref. 570 is incredibly well-preserved in excellent overall condition. A superb watch in every sense, this Calatravone is a charismatic, quiet giant designed to be shown-off on all occasions and will no doubt elevate any outfit.
