The reference 5055 is one of Patek Philippe's most distinctive designs from the 1990s, embodying contemporary sophistication. The 36 mm white gold monobloc case seamlessly integrates the lugs with the bezel, creating a cohesive visual impact that is quite rare in the modern lineup.
The white gold reference is available with two dial options; the present example features a sleek black dial with Arabic numerals on the upper half. This monochromatic scheme modernizes the collection while preserving its classic layout, which includes subsidiary dials for the moon phase (with a delicate date hand circling the periphery near 7 o'clock), power reserve (near 10 o'clock), and small seconds (near 4 o'clock).
Beneath the sapphire caseback lies the caliber 240, a micro-rotor movement also found in the Nautilus reference 5712.
