Catalogue Essay
- Unveiled at Baselworld in 2012, the Patek Philippe Regulator ref. 5235 marked the maison's elegant venture into regulator timepieces. The watch's refined aesthetics pay homage to Patek Philippe's design legacy, incorporating sharp lugs reminiscent of classics like the reference 3448 and brushed casebands that echo that of the "Padellone." However, the interpretation of the reference 5235 feels entirely contemporary and new.
- Its aesthetic appeal is complemented by internal technical innovation. The caliber 31-260 REG QA was exclusively developed for the Regulator, integrating three silicon components from Patek's cutting-edge Advance Research department. This marked the first time silicon parts were incorporated into a serially produced Patek caliber.
- Initially, the reference 5235 was exclusively offered in white gold. However, in 2018, the warm charm of pink gold took the spotlight with the introduction of the present 5235R. The interplay of brushed and polished pink gold against the dark two-tone dial is exquisite. Applied rose gold markers catch the light, along with the textured graphite center.
- Opportunities to acquire this horological masterpiece are rare. Yet, currently presented in exceptional condition with its complete set of accessories, the present Patek Philippe reference 5235R provides a unique opportunity for discerning collectors to appreciate regulator elegance as only Patek Philippe can envision.
