Catalogue Essay
- Originally launched in 2006, the Patek Philippe reference 5960P embodies the first time Patek Philippe release a chronograph with calendar functions that are not perpetual. A milestone reference for the brand, inside the timepiece is powered by their first self-winding chronograph – the calibre CH 28-520, designed and manufactured completely in-house.
- The chronographic subdial at 6 o’ clock incorporates both the minutes and the hours counters, rendering this the first time a 12-hour counter is incorporated in a Patek Philippe serially produced timepiece.
- Offering an annual calendar, flyback chronograph, and in-house movement in a stylish platinum case, the present Patek Philippe reference 5960 represented a turning point for the brand and has since secured its status as a contemporary icon.
- This extremely well preserved example from 2016, with its original set of accessories provides an opportunity to acquire a landmark reference that shaped Patek Philippe's modern chronograph and sports watch collections.

Other famous models include perpetual calendars such as the ref. 1526, ref. 3448 and 3450, chronographs such as the reference 130, 530 and 1463, as well as reference 1436 and 1563 split seconds chronographs. Patek is also well-known for their classically styled, time-only "Calatrava" dress watches, and the "Nautilus," an iconic luxury sports watch first introduced in 1976 as the reference 3700 that is still in production today.
