- Now discontinued by the brand, Patek Philippe’s reference 4968R was first introduced in 2012 and is an unusual offering in many ways. Within beats the caliber 215, a classic manually-wound movement with delicate architecture found in many of Patek’s smaller sized models.
- Instead of lugs extending from the case, they run through the length of the caseback and resting directly on the wrist, slightly curved for ergonomics. The diamond-set bezel is shaped like a spiral, echoed in the subtle spiral detailing on the mother-of-pearl dial.
- With a production run of about a decade, still very few pieces have appeared on the auction market. The present example is in excellent condition with its full suite of accessories.

Other famous models include perpetual calendars such as the ref. 1526, ref. 3448 and 3450, chronographs such as the reference 130, 530 and 1463, as well as reference 1436 and 1563 split seconds chronographs. Patek is also well-known for their classically styled, time-only "Calatrava" dress watches, and the "Nautilus," an iconic luxury sports watch first introduced in 1976 as the reference 3700 that is still in production today.
