Made by the Stern Company, this design was only in production from 1977-79. A number of characteristics make the “Rail Dial” configuration an exceptionally attractive timepiece amongst watch aficionados. Most notably on the dial, the "C" of Chronometer lines up with the "C" of Certified of the line below. The font of the depth marking is also always in italics. It is also the only version of the Sea-Dweller lineup in which the dial is marked “T SWISS T <25”, in addition to COMEX 1665.
The watch was proactively preserved in good hands under of its first owner, even after he brought the watch from Trinidad to his home country. The watch was sent to the Rolex official service center in 1988 and received a full service. The original hang tags, including an extremely rare green dot 610 meters/2000 feet anchor, were retained and kept in mint condition, showing the first owner’s love and care of the watch. Almost as remarkable as the history and rarity of this piece is its great condition, with only few marks of wear on the case.
