Co-signed timepieces are avidly sought-after by collectors in virtue of their rarity, the unique appearance, and also because these dials hark back to its original retail location, travelling back to the bygone eras during which the timepiece was sold.
The present watch is a co-signed timepiece, with the Serpico Y Laino signature at six. But the timepieces holds another surprise — when examining the caseback, one can notice that the finely engraved retailer S&L monogram followed by the case metal in Spanish (Acero) has miraculously retained, furthermore in quite crisp condition, through nearly half a century of life of the watch, a true hidden treasure for the collector of rare and unusual pieces.
Furthermore, the present example of reference 5513 is one of the earliest specimens of the reference produced: it was manufactured in the third quarter of 1963, evidenced by the caseback stamp III 63. Reference 5513 was introduced only one year earlier.
