Few other wristwatch models - by any brand - have enjoyed the same level of experimentation and eclecticism as the Datejust/Day-date. True canvases onto which Rolex imagination runs unbridled, the dial variations one can find on these models are truly mind-blowing: from guillochè dials, to lacquered ones (Stella), passing by gem-set examples and hardstone ones. Arguably, one of the most aesthetically pleasing iterations is the one exemplified by the present timepiece with Malachite dial, the green and gold combination being absolutely stunning. The rarity of this configuration fully matches its appeal, with only few examples having appeared on the market.

The present specimen not only is preserved in superb condition, but furthermore features a Malachite dial with straight striping. Malachite can feature more or less wavy patterns: the straighter the pattern the more appealing the object. In this case, the stripes are nearly perfectly straight, aligned horizontally with the designations of the dial, highlighting the incredible attention to detail the Crown House has always reserved to its timepieces.
