- Reference 116528 is the first Daytona reference in yellow gold to feature an in-house Rolex movement, the successor to the Zenith Daytona ref 16528. Upgraded with Rolex’s first in-house cal. 4130, it replaced the Zenith El Primero based cal. 4030.

- An enormously charismatic timepiece, made even more regal by the luxurious yellow gold bracelet, the present example mounts a black dial with champagne counters and red outer divisions coupled with a red chronographic hands.

- The present watch is preserved in excellent condition with its case back sticker still present. It is furthermore accompanied by its Rolex guarantee stamped Baron & Leeds dated July 11, 2008, factory service booklet, protective cloth, hang tag, fitted presentation box and outer box.

Founded in 1905 England by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis as Wilsdorf & Davis, it soon became known as the Rolex Watch Company in 1915, moving its headquarters to Geneva in 1919. Launched in 1963, these chronographs are without any doubt amongst the most iconic and coveted of all collectible wristwatches. Other key collectible models include their most complicated vintage watches, including references 8171 and 6062 with triple calendar and moon phase, "Jean Claude Killy" triple date chronograph models and the Submariner, including early "big-crown" models and military-issued variants.
