Catalogue Essay
- It first started as an April Fool’s joke in 2023, when Studio Underd0g founder Richard Benc and Time+Tide founder Andrew McUtchen pranked their followers that they were going to release a pizza, and it drew a lot of unexpected positive attention. The following year, the joke matured into a real production, releasing the special edition watches with pizza looking dial in two variations, a pepperoni pizza or ham and pineapple pizza.
- This pizza watch was “hand delivered” because it was only available at the Time+Tide Studio in Melbourne, and collectors of other regions would have to buy it from Richard or Andrew directly, where they would deliver to you in-person in Pizza Party events.
- Apart from the whimsical dial, the exhibition caseback allows the movement to be seen. Housing the Seagull cal. ST1901, it is a chronograph watch that runs reliably.
- This pepperoni pizza chronograph watch comes with a pizza box style packaging, completing the playful theme of the watch. The box has autographs of Richard and Andrew, reminding you that the pizza was delivered by the founders. For collectors who enjoy pepperoni pizzas and watches, this is a sizzling hot deal that shall not be missed.
