Heritage Black Bay, Harrods Special Edition

A fine, attractive and “new-old-stock" stainless steel diver's wristwatch with center seconds, green bezel, bracelet, guarantee and presentation box, retailed by Harrods

- Staying true to the firsts of their kind, the modern Black Bay models are well regarded amongst collectors of Tudor diving watches today. Pieces in the collection possess all the desired traits of an iconic Tudor vintage diving tool watch, including the domed crystal, large winding crown, snowflake hands and riveted bracelet.

- The present timepiece is no ordinary Black Bay model. It sets itself apart from its peers as a limited production piece made especially for one of the world’s most prestigious and oldest department stores, Harrods of London.

- Boasting the institutional colours of Harrods, the bezel, the tip of the seconds hand, and the depth rating have been distinctively tinted in its signature olive green hue. In honour of this special UK edition, the depth rating indicates feet first rather than the habitual meters. Furthermore, as a homage to its military past, Tudor engraved the case back of the watch with large Arabic numerals along with the stylised letter “H” from the Harrods logo.

- Completely untouched and offered in “new-old-stock" condition, the present watch is fitted with a steel bracelet as well as a complimentary black NATO strap, a signature feature of Tudor’s Heritage line.

Almost twenty years after Rolex was founded, Hans Wilsdorf established Tudor with the intention of making more affordable watches without compromising the quality for which Rolex was renowned. Tudor was named after the British Dynasty that ruled England from 1485 to 1603, and their symbol came from the "War of Roses." After interchanging Rose and Shield symbols for a number of years, the firm replaced the Rose with the Shield logo from the 1960s until today.

Some of the most recognized vintage models made by Tudor include the Submariner, a waterproof model first introduced in 1954, the Oysterdate, the earliest versions of which were nicknamed the "Monte-Carlo," the Heritage, which included the date at 6 o'clock, as well as the Pelagos, which translates to "deep sea" in Greek.
